Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Welcome to our SEND and Inclusion page!

At Hughenden Primary School, we celebrate each child’s unique qualities, strengths and achievements. We understand that for some children there are times during their school life when additional support may be needed in order for them to flourish both academically and personally. We are very proud of the excellent relationships we have built both with parents and with a wide range of outside agencies which enables us to meet the needs of individuals when a potential special educational need has been identified.

Our SENDCo is Mrs Zafra Bendall. It is her responsibility to ensure that the needs of pupils with SEND are met, that adjustments are made within the school when needed, and that parents and any other outside agencies or specialists are involved in the child's provision and progress.

If you would like to contact Mrs Bendall, please email her at sendco@hughendenprimary.co.uk and she will be pleased to help in any way she can.

We value feedback from all key stakeholders as it is way to help reflect and evaluate the strategies and procedures we have in place.

A thank you from a SEND parent from September 2024.
'I am so pleased to see the efforts both Mrs Mann, Mrs Bendall and the school are making in supporting children with SEN/learning difficulties.

It's clear from the recent email regarding SEN induction days that you have a lot of good plans and future strategies in place.   Things that will help the children massively!

Its both comforting and reassuring knowing that you know how important it is in making sure that all students receive the necessary support and interventions to thrive academically and socially.

Thank you also for the communication/updates - I really value these.

Thank you for your continued support in regards to XXXX- I really appreciate it.'
